    Data Breach Response

Build an incident timeline and a regulatory notification matrix from your incident documents.

From incident email to obligation map

In the first hours of an incident, the question is not what the law says in the abstract. It is: what do we know, what do we owe, and what are we still missing.

    The timeline, from your documents

Every event from the phishing email through vendor notification is extracted and cited. The incident timeline is the centerpiece, not an afterthought.

    The obligations, cited or marked

Every notification obligation is mapped with its trigger and deadline. Where a deadline is in a source, it is cited. Where the skill supplies a general reference, it is marked to verify.

The vendor positions, against your clauses

Every vendor statement is set against the contract clause it implicates, both cited. The leverage points are on the table, not buried in email.

What the skill does for you

Four stages, one run. While the clock runs.

    1. 1

      Scope the incident record

      What you have, inventoried

      • Every document inventoried: date, kind, author
      • The incident timeline endpoints are established
      • Unreadable items go to Exceptions, never guessed at

The outcome: A clean scope of the incident record, in the first hour.

    2. 2

      Extract the incident facts

      Every event cited

      • Timeline events: phishing, access, detection, isolation, notification, remediation
      • Data elements affected, record counts, scope statements
      • Vendor positions and contractual positions, each with citation and verbatim quote

The outcome: An incident fact base where every row can be traced to a document.

    3. 3

      Map the regulatory obligations

      What you owe, and when

      • For each regulator or jurisdiction: the obligation, the trigger, the deadline
      • Deadlines cited from a source, or marked to verify as a general reference
      • The current record facts that bear on each obligation, with status

The outcome: An obligation map that is the working document for the notification decision.

    4. 4

      Build the matrix and report

      The first internal brief

      • Timeline, data elements, obligations, vendor positions, contractual issues, and gaps in one cited XLSX workbook
      • The incident response report is generated from the same fact base
      • As documents arrive, re run and the timeline and obligation map stay current

The outcome: A draft for attorney review that tells you what is known, what is owed, and what is missing.

A sample incident, run end to end

Northgate Data Breach Incident INC-2026-001 (fictional). A vendor reports that a phishing attack gave an unauthorized actor access to Northgate customer data. Six documents in; the output below is real.

timeline events, from phishing to vendor notification
15timeline events, from phishing to vendor notification
notification obligations mapped, each with trigger and deadline
6notification obligations mapped, each with trigger and deadline
vendor positions set against your contractual positions
4vendor positions set against your contractual positions
gaps, each with what to collect before the clock runs out
6gaps, each with what to collect before the clock runs out

The central contractual issue (real output)

    INC-2026-001 · Northgate / Clearpath MSA §3

    SideStatementCitation
VendorClearpath acknowledges in writing that the interval between detection and notification was approximately four daysEmail_Cho_to_Reyes_2026-01-15.txt
ContractMSA Section 3 requires notification without undue delay and within 24 hours of detectionMSA_Clearpath_2024-06-01.txt §3

The skill does not weigh whether that is a breach. It puts the vendor admission and the contract clause side by side, both cited, with the issue status marked open.

    Built to be defensible

    Runs on your infrastructure

The skill operates on your own Pokee deployment, including fully offline or air gapped environments. Incident data does not leave your control.

    Deadlines never invented

Where a deadline is in a source, it is cited. Where the skill supplies a general regulatory reference, it is marked to verify and labeled as a general reference.

    Vendor positions, not vendor truth

Vendor statements are recorded as statements, with citation, and set against the record. They are not treated as verified facts.
